The Stannah 260 curved-rail stairlift is made to fit the shape of your staircase, and can cope with almost any type of turn (including spiral stairs and narrow stairs with tight turns). Many customers choose to add a small turn at the top or bottom, to park the chair off the stairway. The standard chair comes in a range of attractive colors to blend in with your decor, or you can choose a Solus or Sofia chair with woven fabric or leather upholstery.

What makes the Stannah 260 stairlift special?
We make about half the world's curved stairlifts, and the Stannah 260 has earned a reputation ease of use, ease of installation and reliability. The Model 260 includes the following:
- A rail that is truly custom-made to fit your stairs. Each Stannah 260 rail is designed so that the chair hugs the stairs and travels very smoothly. This is in contrast to some more basic designs on the market which use many small pieces of rail bolted together.
- Accurate measuring. A custom-made stairlift is only as good as the measurements used to make it. That's why Stannah developed the revolutionary 'Stairtracker' system that allows a computer to measure the stairs from digital photographs. Our dealers across North America routinely comment on how much this has improved the process of providing customers with a curved-rail stairlift. We want your stairlift to fit perfectly, just as much as you do!
- Complete flexibility. Designing a rail just for your staircase allows us make the best use of the available space to give you and great rail-design with good parking positions. Many people choose to park the chair off the stairs to park the chair off the stairs, which is safer for getting in and out of the chair, and more convenient for people walking the stairs.
- A swivel seat. If the rail cannot be designed to run onto the top landing a swivel seat allows the user to turn onto the landing so that the back of the chair blocks the stairs. This swivel uses really smooth roller-bearings to make the swivel easy to do, unlike more basic stairlifts which swivel stiffly on washers. (This point is often overlooked. It's the details that make all the difference.)
- An optional powered swivel seat. With a manually-swiveled seat (on any stairlift, not just ours) the user has to stand close to the top of the stairs to swivel the chair. Our popular powered swivel seat allow the user to swivel the chair by simply pushing the button on a remote - safer!
- The best testing process in the industry. All Stannah stairlifts are tested at full load for the equivalent of 10 years of use, and the motor/gearbox is tested for the equivalent of 20 years. This is a robust stairlift designed to serve you well!
The points above should give you an idea that not all stairlifts are the same. Neither are staircases or people, so we would now suggest that you contact us for some more specific advice. We look forward to helping you!
